Abstract

The purpose of this study was to serve as a basis for providing . better clinical training in dental technology department, by examining what students complained of clinical training, how its problems could be corrected, and what its current situation would be. It¢¥s further intended to generate more successful approach to clinical training of dental technology so that students could feel more satisfaction at clinical training in the future.
The findings of this study were as below:
1. The trend that students wanted to get clinical training in a large urban area was less than before. Rather, there was a stronger tendency that they liked to be under more careful guidance even if they would be posted in a small area.
2. During clinical training, they had more clinical experiences in 1999 than in 1998, and what they found most difficult to do was casting.
3. In the beginning of clinical training, they didn¢¥t think highly of themselves. But they felt their own ability got better much when the training was being over. This showed clinical training had a good effect.
4. The most crucial thing to be addressed was that students should be theoretically, prepared fully for clinical training in advance.

The above-mentioned findings of this study suggested that the way of keeping training diary should be instructed more systematically and that research efforts should be constantly devoted to clinical training to make it more successful and effective.
